This Mango and Almond Butter Protein Smoothie recipe is so delicious and filling.  The sweet from the mango paired with the savory of the almond butter makes for such a satisfying meal or snack. It is also so quick to whip up! No more excuses for skipping breakfast or grabbing something from a package. This smoothie is full of protein which has so many benefits for your body.

Be honest, who has a hard time getting enough protein into their day ? Increasing protein has been a major focus of ours over the past year.  

Protein is the building blocks of your muscles, and your muscles boost your metabolism and help you drop fat.  Protein also helps with your post workout recovery and keeps you feeling full longer. We have found that most women we work with are initially not getting enough protein into their diet. 

Without enough protein your weight loss effort can easily be sabotaged.  When you create a calorie deficit, your goal is to decrease your body fat while maintaining your muscle mass. However, without enough protein, a calorie deficit can easily starve your muscles. Sure you may drop pounds on the scale, but it will be highly likely that these pounds will include your muscle mass.  Ladies, you do not want this! Losing your muscle mass will only make it more difficult to reach your goals.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen mango

  • 1/2 banana sliced

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk

  • 1 TBSP almond butter

  • 1 Scoop (25g) of vanilla protein powder

Directions

  • Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Serve immediately.
